Choose Your Own Adventure: House of Danger
Designer: Prospero Hall
Publisher: Z-Man Games
Getting to work on an official Choose Your Own Adventure game was another childhood dream come true. Early on, it was decided that the this game would be both directly inspired by one of the original books, House of Danger, and that we wanted to recreate the childhood thrill of the original 1980’s book series. That devotion to the source material and our studio’s childhood memories definitely shine through on the final project.
My involvement included:
Recreating the look and feel of the original books. Everything from the colors and textures to fonts and illustrations.
Designing the game box, card layouts and gameboard.
Art directing roughly a half dozen illustrators, and coordinating their art with the needs of the game designers and writers.
