The Wizard Always Wins
Designer: Prospero Hall
Publisher: Big G Creative
As a child of the late-70’s and early-80’s, I’ve always had a soft spot for the fantasy aesthetic of that period. Whether is was Masters of the Universe, Ralph Bakshi’s “Wizards” or the early D&D manuals, there was a unique feel to it what manages to be both trippy and futuristic at the same time, while still being “fantasy.” The Wizard Always Wins, ended up being a love letter to that time period and aesthetic.
As a Product Designer on this game, my contributions included:
Graphic design on the packaging, cards, tokens and all internal components.
Developing the synthwave-meets-70’s fantasy aesthetic.
Designing the color scheme, iconography and typography system.
Working with an illustrator to develop the Wizard, and the six other characters featured in the game.
The Wizard Always Wins game components.
